Privacy policy

Effective 5 October 2026

In short: the Stillworlds app doesn't collect, store or share any information about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The only thing this website ever asks for is your email address, and only if you choose to join the newsletter.

The app

What stays on your Mac

Stillworlds keeps two small files on your Mac, in your user Library (Library/Application Support/Stillworlds):

These files never leave your Mac and are never sent to us. Deleting Stillworlds and this folder removes them.

Purchases

The Launch Collection is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. Apple's own privacy policy applies to purchases.

Network

The app connects only to Apple's App Store, to show the price and to make or restore a purchase. The screen saver never connects to the internet. The worlds, music and sounds are all inside the app.

Crash reports

If you have chosen in macOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. These don't identify you; you can change this in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

This website

No cookies, no analytics

stillworlds.app uses no cookies, analytics or advertising, and loads nothing from other companies: its fonts, pictures and videos are served from the site itself. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes the technical details of each request (such as your IP address) to deliver the page and protect the site.

The newsletter

If you sign up, your email address is stored by our newsletter provider, Buttondown (which keeps data in the United States, with the safeguards UK law requires for international transfers), and used only to send you Stillworlds news. Opens and clicks are not tracked. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, then remove it. We never sell or share it.

Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by signing up and confirming by email. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every newsletter or by writing to hello@stillworlds.app.

Who we are and your rights

Stillworlds is made by Dwayne Gilpin, an independent developer in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for your information (the "data controller"). Contact: hello@stillworlds.app.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (for the newsletter, just your email address), to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict its use. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

The app collects no information from anyone, including children. The newsletter is not intended for children under 13.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions about privacy: hello@stillworlds.app.
